Ruby joined the lab in Fall 2013 and has the privilege of being the first graduate student in the lab. She came to us from the University of Minnesota where she received her B.S. in Biochemistry in Spring 2013. Ruby’s project in the lab is working on the characterization of a newly identified gene involved in oocyte maturation and fertilization. In addition to working in the lab, Ruby is also a TA for the Biology Department and a tutor and mentor for 6-8th graders at the Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science.
